T-Wolves rally past Wenatchee

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Chris Wheelock scored 13 points and the Lake City Timberwolves shook off a long bus ride to soundly defeat Wenatchee 50-36 on Monday night in nonleague play.

"We got off to a slow start," Lake City assistant coach Kelly Reed said. "But we had a solid defensive effort from there on, allowing only 19 points the rest of the way."

Jared Jaeger led the Panthers with 13 points.

Scott Turner had nine rebounds and two blocked shots to go with 11 points for the T-Wolves (4-2), who host Glacier tonight at 6.

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Sidney Butler scored 13 points and hit two free throws in the closing seconds to secure a nonleague win for Lake City.

"It was a close game, back and forth all the way," Lake City coach Royce Johnston said. "But Sidney hit all five of her free throws in the 4th quarter, and we held them off."

Mikayla George led the Panthers with 21 points.

Gina Mitchell and Katie Rowe also scored 13 points, and Butler finished with nine rebounds and nine assists, for the T-Wolves (8-1), who host Glacier tonight at 4:30.
