Area Christmas programs

If your church, school or organization is planning a special program such as a concert, play or live nativity for Christmas or the holidays - in addition to regular Christmas services or individual classroom projects - The Press would like to know about it.

Here are some programs planned:

* Today to Sunday - "A Taffeta Christmas", Lake City Playhouse, 1320 E. Garden Ave., shows at 7:30 p.m. Today through Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sundays, $19 adults, $17 veterans and students 13 and older, $15 seniors 60 and older, $9 students 12 and younger, 667-1323,www.lakecityplayhouse.org.

* Friday - Children's musical exploring how people in other countries celebrate Christmas, 6:30 p.m. Lutheran Academy of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene, 765-8238;

* Saturday, Sunday - "The Gift" drive-thru live nativity presented by Genesis Prep Academy, 6-9 p.m., free, Real Life Ministries, 1866 N. Cecil Road, 100 actors and live animals, cars receive a free audio CD, 691-0712, www.genesisprep.org;

* Sunday - Cynthia Marlette piano concert, 4 p.m. followed by "Night of the Father's Love" Christmas musical with the combined choirs of First Presbyterian Church and Community United Methodist Church. (Choirs will be accompanied by Community Orchestra directed by Judith Flieger and Mark Haberman.) childcare available, Community United Methodist Church, 1470 E. * Sunday - "Glory in the Highest" adult Christmas program, 9:30 a.m., Coeur d'Alene Church of the Nazarene, 4000 N. 4th St., 667-3543, (same program also at 6 p.m. at Kellogg Church of the Nazarene, 631 S. Division, Kellogg);

* Sunday - "Follow the Star, Follow the King" cantata, 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. during worship services, Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d'Alene, 765-1002;

* Sunday - "Night of the Father's Love" Christmas musical cantata, 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., free, Community United Methodist Church, 1470 E. Hanley Ave., Coeur d'Alene, 765-8800, www.cumccda.org

* Sunday - Christmas piano music by Cynthia Marlette followed by "Night of the Father's Love" choir cantata, 9:30 a.m., childcare available, First Presbyterian Church, 521 Lakeside Ave., Coeur d'Alene, 667-8446;

* Unitarian Christmas with Rev. Tracy Springberry. We will gather to celebrate the brightness of Christmas within our faith. 10:30 a.m., Harding Family Center, 15th & Wallace.

* Monday - Ladies of the Lake Harp Ensemble Christmas Concert, 7 p.m., First Baptist Church, 424 Wallace, Coeur d'Alene, free, 664-5791;

* Dec. 21-23 - Outdoor living nativity drama, 6-9 p.m., New Life Community Church, 6068 W. Hayden Ave. (between Atlas and Highway 41), snacks, Christmas music inside, 687-3606;

* Dec. 22 - "Come Home to the Sounds and Spirit of Christmas" with the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale, Kroc Center, 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., $10, $8 seniors and students, tickets available at www.nwsmc.org, Great Harvest Bread Company, Northwest Academy of Music, First Presbyterian Church, off-site parking available.
