Cougs follow big win with another win

| December 11, 2010 8:00 PM

SPOKANE - Washington State coach Ken Bone was concerned that the Cougars would have difficulty maintaining their intensity two nights after dominating regional rival Gonzaga before a large home crowd.

Bone got what he expected in terms of spotty intensity, but he also got the win he expected when the Cougars downed Texas-Pan American 74-52 Friday night at the Spokane Arena.

"It's always difficult to come off a huge win or a devastating loss," Bone said.

Faisal Aden led the Cougars (7-1) with 20 points, and the junior guard tied for game-high honors with seven rebounds. Klay Thompson added 15 points and Brock Motum scored 13 for WSU.

Brandon Provost and Perry Petty led Texas-Pan American (3-8) with 10 points apiece.

WSU returns to action Dec. 19 at Santa Clara.
