PORK: Help PF win Prairie Pig

Calling all Post Falls residents! I am a senior at Post Falls High School, and for those of you who may not know, the Prairie Pig rivalry game between our school and Lakeland High School is coming up on Dec. 17. Among the different spirit competitions that go toward winning the pig, one of the biggest contests is the food drive.

Lakeland has won Prairie Pig many more years than we have. One of the biggest reasons is that the town of Rathdrum throws in a lot of support to the school for the event. The fundraiser is often what keeps the Trojans from claiming the pig. So, what I ask of all my fellow Post Fallsians is to pitch in and help.

Starting on Dec. 12, people can bring canned and non-perishable food items to the office at Post Falls High School; pet food is also welcome. Besides helping Post Falls to finally bring the pig back, any donations made will also help the many families in our community who are in need of help this winter. People can also purchase Prairie Pig game tickets at the office if they wish to support us in person and cheer in the stands while donning orange and black apparel; the game is at Post Falls High School this year.
