CYT to host second 'Play in a Day'

COEUR d'ALENE - Christian Youth Theater-North Idaho will host its second "Play in a Day" fundraiser at the Salvation Army Kroc Community Theater on Dec. 28-29.

Last year's event was so successful with 163 local kids putting on a play in just 24 hours, that CYT has decided to do it again, organizers said.

This year's show will be highlights from "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat." Auditions are Dec. 28. The performance is 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29.

The event is free to kids between the ages of 8-18. Anyone who wants to participate is asked to sign up online at www.cytnorthidaho.com

CYT-North Idaho opened its doors in Coeur d'Alene in 2007 with children's theater camps and has since produced three fully-stage musicals.

Funds are raised at the Play in a Day event through ticket sales to the performance.

"You won't want to miss this opportunity to see what 100-plus local kids and numerous volunteer adults can pull off in just 24 hours," according to a press release.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online or at the door.
