George Joseph McCormick, 56

George Joseph McCormick, 56, of Hayden, died Dec. 6, 2010. He was born in Coeur d'Alene on March 19, 1954, to John and Aileen McCormick. He grew up in Coeur d'Alene and attended St. Thomas, I.H.M. and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1972.

In 1988 he married Mary Hamm and they made their home in Hayden. In addition to Mary, George is survived by his children, Elizabeth and James; sisters, Margo and Pat; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kath.

George worked for Senex Coop Supply for 35 years. George had a lifelong interest in railroading, he was an avid reader, and enjoyed swapping yarn with friends and coworkers.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family may be made at any branch of Washington Trust Bank to the ‘George McCormick Memorial Fund' or in George's name to the American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. Services have been entrusted to English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d'Alene.
