Here comes Santa - to Dalton Gardens

| December 7, 2010 4:59 AM

Santa will be visiting

Dalton Gardens tonight and Post Falls on Wednesday night with his

Kootenai County Fire and Rescue helpers to spread Christmas cheer,

hand out candy canes and collect items for local charities.

Food collected will be

donated to the local food bank, money collected will be given to

Christmas for All and toys will be donated to Toys for Tots.

Santa and his team will

be in Dalton tonight from 6-9 p.m., taking two routes.

On Wednesday, Santa and

firefighters will make half-hour stops at Post Falls schools and

businesses rather than visiting neighborhoods to save on gas and

time and so kids can see Santa up close.

Here is the schedule:

• 6-6:30 p.m. — West

Ridge, Prairie View schools;

• 6:35-7:05 p.m. —

Seltice, Ponderosa schools;

• 7:10-7:40 p.m. —

Frederick Post Kindergarten, Super 1 Foods;

• 7:45-8:15 p.m. — Mullan

Trail Elementary, Trading Co. Store; and

• 8:20-8:50 p.m. — River

City, Post Falls middle schools.

On Sunday, Dec. 19, Santa

will be on a Hauser fire truck in that community to collect food

items for the food bank during times to be determined.
