Indians throttle Bears

YAKIMA, Wash. - Michael Olt went 3 for 6 with three RBIs and scored three runs to lead the Spokane Indians past the Yakima Bears 13-3 in Northwest League baseball action Thursday night in front of 1,746 at Yakima County Stadium.

Santiago Chirino and Brett Nicholas added two hits and three RBIs apiece for Spokane (14-14), which padded its 6-3 lead with six runs in the seventh.

Yakima (18-10) starting pitcher Andrew Berger took the loss after being rocked for five runs on four hits and five walks in 1 2/3 innings.

The Indians begin their final homestand of the regular season with the first of three games vs. the Boise Hawks tonight at 6:30 at Avista Stadium.
