Viking girls battle back

MOSCOW - Junior Emilee Cordon scored two goals to lift the Coeur d'Alene Vikings to a come-from-behind 3-1 win over the Moscow Bears in a nonleague match Wednesday.

"The first half was absolutely atrocious," Coeur d'Alene coach Tarragh Carr said. "I couldn't have told you who that team was in the first half. At halftime, I asked who was going to step up and be the leader. It was amazing the way they played in the second half. I was really proud of the way they overcame and came back."

Caelyn Orlandi had two assists for Coeur d'Alene (2-0), which travels to Sandpoint on Saturday.

"I thought the girls played really well offensively," Post Falls coach Becky Thompson said.

Lakeland (2-2) travels to Moscow on Tuesday.
