Teen injured in Government Way bike accident

COEUR d'ALENE - A 14-year-old Coeur d'Alene boy was hurt when he collided with a car while riding his bike on Government Way Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Idaho State Police, the boy was in the northbound lanes near Hanley Avenue when he collided with a 2006 Lincoln pickup driven by Marty D. Frantz, 59, Post Falls.

Police said Frantz was exiting a driveway onto Government Way southbound when the "low-speed collision" occurred about 1:40 p.m.

Frantz, who was wearing a seat belt, was not hurt. The teen, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Kootenai Medical Center.

An investigation continues.
