Bernice S. Baylon, 91

Bernice S. Baylon, 91 years old, of Libby, Mont., passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2010, at Libby Care Center.

Bernice resided with her one and only child, Linda Collinson for the past eight years in Libby. She was born in Ovid on Sept. 2, 1918, to her parents George and Johanna Keith. Her school years were spent in Reno, Nev.

Bernice sold real-estate in Reno. She then moved to Bonners Ferry and was a bookkeeper for Kelson Lumber Co. She moved to Coeur d'Alene and became a volunteer at Kootenai Medical Center where she earned her 5,000-hour pin certificate and also received a letter of recognition for her achievement from Senator Max Baucus.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, George and Johanna Keith of Bonners Ferry, the love of her life and husband, August J. Baylon of Bonners Ferry and five siblings Ray Peterson, Roland Peterson, Royal Peterson and Danny Peterson and Ila Martn.

Bernice had seven grandchildren who dearly loved her. Ray MacDonald, Kelly and Julie MacDonald, Wendy and Scott Challinor, Debbie and Rod Thorstenson and Jamie and Steve Swartzwelder, Donnie MacDonald, and Todd and Jan Riley.

She enjoyed her 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by family and friends for her great personality, sense of humor and the love she gave to all.

Graveside services will be held at Grandview Cemetery in Bonners Ferry. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010. The family would like to invite any friends of Bernice to join them in remembrance. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Libby.
