What Are You Doing For The Next 30 To 90 Days Part II.

In last week's article I asked the following questions - What are you doing for the next 30 to 90 days? Where would you like to be in the next 30 to 90 days? Then I made the observation that 30 to 90 days will come and go just like the previous 30 to 90 days. For some, they will be exactly where they are today and for others, their lives will be significantly better because their health will be significantly transformed. Like Jim Stanton from Orofino, whom I cited last week, who went from a cholesterol level of 4,100 to 230 in just 30 days by investing in himself and doing the Ideal Protein diet/treatment Program.

This week I would like to share what happened to a 50-year-old white female with all the classic symptoms of the Metabolic Syndrome or Syndrome "X" in just 90 days. She was obese - she weighed 256 pounds. She had Type II insulin resistant diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. She was also low in thyroid hormone. She was on the following medications: Simvastatin - 80 mg QD, Atenolol - 50 mg QD, Amlodipine - 10 mg QD, Omeprazole - 20 mg QD, Glyburide - 20 mg BID, Metformin - 1,000 mg BID, Fenofibrate - 145 mg QD and Levothyroxine - 0.1 mg QD.

Her significant lab values before the Ideal Protein diet/treatment program (Dec. 5, 2006): Glucose - 134 H, Hemoglobin - 11.4 L, Hematocrit - 31.5 L, Platelets - 493 H, TSH - 6.1 H, Triglycerides - 720 H, Cholesterol (total) - 259 H, LDL (chol) TG's too high to calculate, HDL (chol) - 19 L and Chol/HDL ratio - 13.6 H.

I have pointed out in past articles some serious health concerns associated with several of these drugs and that they are a treatment and will not cure what they are being taken for.

Because the underlying problem is believed to be a dysfunctional pancreas (which none of these drugs are addressing) the patient will usually continue to need these drugs and progressively larger doses and stronger medications as their health continues to deteriorate.

Well, back to our story. When her lab values were determined on April 5, 2007, (after the Ideal Protein diet/treatment) all of her medications were discontinued except for the Levothyroxine which was now 0.025mg (a 75 percent reduction). These were the new lab values: Glucose - 92, Hemoglobin - 11.2 L, Hematocrit - 35.0, Platelets - 394, TSH - 4.227, Triglycerides - 104, Cholesterol (total) - 121, LDL (chol) - 44, HDL (chol) - 56 and Chol/HDL ratio - 2.1.

In addition, this woman lost a total of 48 pounds (256 to 208) in approximately 90 days! So again I ask - What are you doing for the next 30 to 90 days?

Some of you might be saying - "But I don't have diabetes, high cholesterol or high blood pressure." If you are 25 to 30 pounds or more over what you weighed at age 25, or ladies - if your abdominal circumference is greater than 35 inches at the belly button (and no sucking in when you measure) or men - 40 inches (some reputable sources say 37-39 inches) then, my response is: YET! You don't have diabetes or high blood pressure or high cholesterol yet, especially if you are 50 years old or older. Watch for my article next week on Belly Bulge Can Be Deadly For Older Adults.
