Chiropractic care, massage therapy offered at Avanti Health

Avanti Health is a new chiropractic office located on Ironwood in Coeur d'Alene. Avanti offers chiropractic care, massage therapy and has an in-house D.O. (doctor of osteopathy).

"We try to provide all sides of the medical aspect," Ty Weingard, D.C., said. "We feel that avoiding the use of medications is the best way to live, but we understand sometimes it's necessary and we are able to do that."

Burk Thomas, D.C., and Weingard graduated from Western States Chiropractic in Oregon. They opened their practice in early August and expanded the scope of practice by bringing in Ken Young, D.O. Both doctors agree on having a relaxing atmosphere, and searching for a solution for each patient's pain needs.

"We try to focus on the whole body," Weingard said. "It is important to us to find the cause of pain, not just cover it up with medications."

Avanti Health is located in a brand new facility, surrounded by other health professionals. Avanti offers treatments for a wide range of pain or injury issues. They specialize in workman's compensation, personal injury, sports injury and basic back pain.

"If we take a look at a patient and can't figure out what the source of pain is, we pass them on to Dr. Young," Thomas, said. "Then if he can't figure out the problem, we can refer the patient to another doctor in our building or to someone close by."
