Avista customers, you can be heard

You can participate in a public hearing Thursday night, Aug. 26, at 7 regarding the Avista Utilities request for a rate increase. This is a telephonic hearing for a proposed settlement between the utility, commission staff and other intervenors in the case.

The electric increase would be 9.25 percent spread over three years with the first increase – 3.6 percent – effective Oct. 1 if the settlement is approved. The proposed gas increase is 2.6 percent spread over two years. Avista originally requested a one-time 14.2 percent electric increase and 3.6 percent gas increase.
