YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) - A new visitor education center at Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park is set to open to the public next week.

The $27 million interpretive center will open Wednesday, which will be the 94th anniversary of the creation of the National Park Service. Linda Young, the park's chief of interpretation and education, says the facility will help visitors better understand the "amazing features" they see in America's first national park, including its geothermal activity and wildlife.

The two-story building replaces an outdated visitor center that was torn down in 2006 and 2007. It has been highly rated by the U.S. Green Building Council for its water conservation, indoor air quality and use of sustainable materials.
