Walter H. Friesen, 79

Walter H. Friesen, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, at his home in Rose Terrace in Coeur d'Alene.

He was born to Aaron B. Friesen and Justina Klassen in Newport, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Eloise Levick.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann James of Plummer; sister-in-law Sue Davidson of Spokane, Wash.; daughter Vickie and her spouse Greg Keller of Tekoa, Wash.; son Ronald and his spouse Sue of Coupeville, Wash., Wally and partner Donna of Everett, Wash.; and a daughter Pam and her spouse John Cox of Plummer. Walter also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren all of which will miss him greatly.

Walter was an ordained minister and was pastor of a church in Plummer for 10 years. Walter also had the pleasure of performing the weddings of five of his grandchildren.

Walter enjoyed fishing, Walter's family was everything to him and he enjoyed spending time with his family any time he could. His favorite movies were westerns and at the top of the list was John Wayne.
