Lock up, prevent car burglaries

| August 20, 2010 9:00 PM

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents and visitors that the best way to not become a victim of an auto burglary is to lock your car doors.

Through the first seven months of the year, deputies have taken 175 vehicle burglary reports. More than 85 percent of those vehicles were unlocked and had valuable items in plain view.

The sheriff’s office encourages anyone to report any suspicious persons in the neighborhoods by calling 446-1300.
