James Manville King III, 92

James Manville King III, 92, passed away at the Royal Park Care Center in Spokane, Wash., on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010.

James was born in Frazee, Minn., on Feb. 12, 1918, to James Manville King II and Elizabeth "Daisy" (Pangrey) King. They moved to Coeur d'Alene when James was a toddler. He graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1937.

After high school he was a bus driver in the Army, transporting troops to Farragut. He met is future wife, Audrey Waldecker, at Coeur d'Alene High School. They married in April 1941 in Coeur d'Alene. They moved to Spokane in 1946, and had two children James M. King IV and Anita King. Jim supported his family as a local truck driver and warehouse supervisor for Inland Motor Freight and Garrett Freightlines in Spokane.

Jim and his wife started square and round dancing in the mid-1950s. They were members of different square dance groups over the years. Jim danced until he was 90. The family was avid campers and spent many summers camping at the local lakes and rivers. Jim supported his wife's love of fishing.

Jim and Audrey were members of Lidgerwod Presbyterian Church in Spokane. Jim was both a deacon and an elder. They were also active participants of the church's square dance group during the '50s and '60s.

He is survived by his daughter, Anita K. King of Newport, Wash., and his companion, best friend and square dance partner, Sharon L. Huston of Coeur d'Alene.

Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife, Audrey and his son, James M. king IV.

The family ask that any memorials be made in Jim and Audrey's names to the Ronald McDonald House, Spokane, or the Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, Spokane.

There will not be a funeral or memorial service at the request of Jim. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is handling the cremation.
