Scott Lee (Scotty) Dorman, 22

Scott Lee (Scotty) Dorman passed away peacefully at the family home in Coeur d'Alene, on Aug. 16, 2010, his 22nd birthday, following a lifelong battle with Fanconi Anemia and yearlong battle with cancer. Scott was born Aug. 16, 1988, to Brian and Jennifer Dorman (Trout) in Coeur d'Alene.

He lived his entire life in Coeur d'Alene and graduated from Lake City High School in 2007. Scott was very involved in numerous activities including bowling, winning several awards, snowboarding, skateboarding and motorcycle riding. Scott had a wonderful singing voice and sang at several of the North Idaho College Easter Sunday programs as well as Christ the King Lutheran Church, where he was a member and many school functions.

Scott was very proud of his nine tattoos, but his greatest love was glass making of which he became quite proficient. Scott taught himself to make glass beads with colored glass mushrooms inside. Scott was very outgoing and personable and seemed to know everyone in town.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don and Ruth Dorman.

He is survived by his parents, Brian and Jennifer; his grandfather, Tim Trout and his wife Wendy and grandmothers Mary Thrasher of Santa Paula, Calif., Deborah Grover of Cheney, Wash., and Janice Trout of Charlbury, England, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A potluck reception honoring Scott's life will be held from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at the family home, 2239 W. Shawna Ave., Coeur d'Alene. Guests are asked to bring a dish of their choice.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund Inc., 1801 Willamette St., Suite 200, Eugene, OR 97401.
