Prepare for disaster - this Saturday

| August 18, 2010 6:54 AM

POST FALLS — The public is invited to a free seminar on emergency preparedness on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Post Falls police station, 1717 E. Polston Ave.

There is no need to register.

"This meeting is the result of the Post Falls community survey," police Chief Scot Haug said. "This is one of the areas the public expressed an interest in. We hope to have two meetings a year to educate on how to prepare for a disaster."

Attendees will learn how to create an emergency plan and develop a preparedness supply kit for your family.

The event is sponsored by Post Falls Police and the Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management. The presentation will be made by the Kootenai County Citizen Corps Speakers Bureau.
