Meet the VP candidates for NIC

 North Idaho College is hosting four, open-session forums next week

for the four finalists selected for the vice president for the student

services position formerly held by Eric Murray. The community is

invited to attend the sessions and give feedback to the college search

team.

The vice president for student services manages the college’s

enrollment and student services, the Children’s Center and the Schuler

Performing Arts Center.

The position is one of four vice president positions directly under

NIC President Priscilla Bell.

In June, Murray resigned from the NIC position to accept the position

of president of Cascadia Community College in Washington state.

Each of the four forums will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Lake

Coeur d’Alene Room of NIC’s Edminster Student Union Building. The four

finalists and the days each visits the campus next week are:

 Monday: Ron Shade

Shade is currently vice president of student development at Georgia

Highlands College in Rome, Ga. He previously worked as dean of student

services at Kingwood College in Kingwood, Texas as well as vice

president for student services at St. Charles Community College in St.

Peters, Mo. Shade graduated from Illinois State University with a

doctorate in higher education administration.

Tuesday: Sheldon Nord

Nord was most recently the vice president for student affairs and then

president/CEO of Universitas Pelita Harapan in Indonesia. He

previously worked as dean of students at Weber State in Ogden, Utah

and vice president of student affairs at Oregon Institute of

Technology in Klamath Falls, Ore. Nord graduated from Indiana

University with a doctorate in higher education.

Wednesday: Graydon Stanley

Stanley is currently the dean of students at College of Southern Idaho

in Twin Falls. He worked previously as the assistant director of

admissions and director of development at College of Idaho in

Caldwell. Stanley graduated from the College of Idaho with a master’s

degree in education counseling.

Thursday, Aug. 26: Sharon Kipetz

Kipetz is currently vice president for student affairs at Shepherd

University in Shepherdstown, W.Va. She worked previously as dean of

students at the University of Connecticut and as interim dean of

students at the University of Massachusetts.
