LCDC to talk budget

| August 18, 2010 9:00 PM

COEUR d’ALENE — Budget, wastewater and public records.

Lake City Development Corp. will put its fiscal year 2011 budget up for public hearing and possible adoption at 4 this afternoon during its monthly meeting in the Coeur d’Alene Public Library.

Overall, the urban renewal agency is anticipating a $5.4 million budget, with roughly $2 million of its expected expenditures geared to go to capital enhancements for a possible reconstruction project of McEuen Field and improvements to portions of the education corridor near the North Idaho College campus.

The fiscal year runs from October through September 2011.

Next year, the agency is expecting to collect $4.5 million in tax increment revenues, down from the roughly $5.1 million in 2010, and $4.9 million in 2009.

Also on the agenda, the board will talk with the city’s wastewater superintendent, Sid Fredrickson, about how wastewater facilities can affect a city’s growth. The board is beginning a regular discussion with community leaders during its meetings.

The board is also expected to adopt guidelines toward public records requests that it wants to put on its Web site so people interested in obtaining LCDC public records will have an easy to read document that outlines the process for reviewing and receiving those records, said Tony Berns, LCDC executive director.
