Driver injured in car crash

A 47-year-old St. Maries man was injured Tuesday when he drove his vehicle off Highway 3 in Benewah County.

Idaho State Police report Craig Sutfin was northbound at 3:02 p.m. when he drove off the right shoulder of the roadway at milepost 92.

The 1983 Mercedes-Benz then traveled down a steep embankment, rolling several times.

Sutfin, the only occupant of the vehicle, was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time, and was transported to Benewah General Hospital.

Police report that alcohol is a factor in the crash.
