Moon Dollars to hold fundraiser

POST FALLS - Moon Dollars restaurant will be celebrating its third anniversary on Friday with food, music and kids' activities while benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County.

The event runs from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 609 N. Syringa St.

Moon Dollars will host a barbecue for $5 per plate. There will also be a beer and wine garden.

The Kelly Hughes Band will perform.

There will also be a bounce house, obstacle course, face painting, kids' crafts and a dunk tank.

Giant Smokey will be at fire event

POST FALLS - A 25-foot Smokey Bear balloon will be at a Kootenai County Fire Prevention Cooperative event on Thursday at Cabela's from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hunter fire safety and other free education materials will be provided.

Attendees can buy a raffle ticket to win a 2010 Jeep Wrangler.

Proceeds support the 1910 Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

The first 300 people will receive a 1910 firefighter commemorative bobble head.
