Pounds tied for lead at tournament

LEWISTON - Alex Pounds of Coeur d'Alene is in a three-way tie for first place after shooting a 72 on the first day of the Idaho Golf Association junior state tournament at Lewiston Country Club.

Andrew Roller of Hayden is in a three-way tie for fourth after shooting 73. Jeffrey Roseth of Coeur d'Alene and Dan Masterson of St. Maries are tied for 14th after shooting 78. Spencer Skipper of Coeur d'Alene and Brandon Koehler of Hayden each shot 79.

In the girls 15-18 age group, Madeline Dodge of Post Falls is in third place, two strokes out of the lead, after shooting 77. Kaceelyn Pouttu of Kellogg is tied for fourth with a 79.

In the boys 13-14 age group, Corey Beaver of Post Falls is in fifth, four strokes back, after shooting 77. Stephen Roller of Hayden and Derek Bayley of Rathdrum each shot 79.

In the 9-hole tournament at Bryden Canyon Golf Course, Jordan Jaeger of Hayden is tied for first in the girls 10-year-old division after shooting 55. In the boys 10-year-old division, Tyler Gibbons of Pinehurst is tied for fifth after a 48. In the boys 9-year-old division, Trey Sharp of Pinehurst is third, two strokes back, after a 50.

The tournament concludes today, with the older players at Bryden Canyon and the younger ones at Lewiston Country Club.
