KEIZER, Ore. - Tim Stanford (4-0) remained undefeated on the mound for Spokane, throwing six innings of three-run ball and getting some offensive help as the Indians beat Salem-Keizer 11-8 in Northwest League play before 3,162 at Volcanoes Stadium on Sunday night.
Bret Nicholas had a two-RBI single to give the Indians an 8-6 lead in the seventh. Ryan Strausborger and Jared Hoying each hit eighth-inning homers to highlight a three-run inning, and Kellin Deglan also homered for Spokane (9-9).
Clark Murphy had two hits to raise his average to .333 for the Indians.
Raynor Campbell finished with three RBIs for the Volcanoes (6-12), who host Spokane again tonight at 6:30.
