Tampa earns shot at Shock

TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Orlando quarterback Nick Hill found T.T. Toliver on a 6-yard touchdown pass, but the tying extra point failed as the Tampa Bay Storm held on late to advance to Friday’s Arena Football League ArenaBowl with a 63-62 win over the Predators (9-9) at the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday in the American Conference championship game.

Tampa Bay (13-5) will face the Spokane Shock in the ArenaBowl at the Spokane Arena at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on the NFL Network.

Tampa Bay outscored the Predators 35-21 in the first half and went up 42-21 as Brett Dietz completed a 9-yard touchdown to Tyrone Timmons with 9:43 remaining in the third quarter.

Dietz finished the game 24 of 46 for 260 yards and seven touchdowns for Tampa Bay and DeAndrew Rubin had 10 catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns.
