KTEC: Perfect option for technical students

| August 15, 2010 10:00 PM

Options, generally speaking are a good thing. The option of beginning a professional technical career path while still in high school could soon be made available to students in the Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls and Rathdrum school districts. The setting would be ideal, a three school district combined campus with opportunities for our high school students to become proficient in welding, auto mechanics or to begin in a health related occupation. They could choose to study manufacturing, construction, information technology, drafting or tourism. The end result of this high school coursework for our students would be a skill set that would give them options.

Upon graduation from high school, they would have the option of an immediate employability in their chosen professional technical field, a career that would give them a livable wage. They could also choose to further their education in a college or university setting. Let's give our kids options! Vote in support of the Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC) on Aug. 24.
