LIBERALS: Spending leads to U.S. debt

| August 13, 2010 10:00 PM

Does anyone else get tired of reading all the name calling and misinformation between the Democratic Party and the Republican Party? The fact of the matter is both parties are guilty of burgeoning government and out of control spending; hence the Tea Party movement.

According to Mr. Pappas, the Republicans wanted to starve the children of the unemployed by not extending the unemployment benefits to their out of work parents. They wanted to extend the Bush tax cuts for only the wealthy, and eliminate the estate [death] tax only for the wealthy. In which a trillion dollar debt would be created in 10 years.

Well Mr. Pappas, debt is not created by tax cuts; it is caused solely by unfunded spending! The Republicans were not against extending unemployment benefits, only unfunded benefits. They merely wanted the funds to come from the unspent stimulus money instead of being added to the national debt. And why should the wealthy pay a higher percentage of tax? Because they can? Maybe they should pay more for a loaf of bread as well?

The Democrats control the presidency, the Senate, and the House! They don't need the Republicans to pass anything now do they?

Pres. Bush's national debt was $444 billion his last year in office. Pres. Obama's this year will be $1.4 trillion! So come November vote why not vote for a fiscal responsible representative and not a "party" member? And remember a vote for Minnick is a vote for Pelosi!
