Red Sox 2, Yankees 1: Jon Lester received key help from relievers Daniel Bard and Jonathan Papelbon in ending his career-worst four-game skid, and visiting Boston salvaged a series split by beating New York.
Orioles 3, White Sox 2, 10 inn.: Brian Roberts hit his first home run of the season leading off the 10th, and host Baltimore beat Chicago.
Baltimore is 6-1 since Showalter made his debut last Tuesday.
Angels 6, Royals 4: At Anaheim, Calif., Bobby Abreu had three hits and drove in four runs to help Los Angeles defeat Kansas City.

Astros 10, Braves 4: Hot-hitting rookie Chris Johnson drove in three runs, including two in host Houston's six-run seventh inning, and the Astros beat Atlanta.
Cardinals 7, Reds 3: Skip Schumaker hit his first career grand slam and visiting St. Louis beat Cincinnati.
Diamondbacks 7, Brewers 4, 10 inn.: Stephen Drew hit a two-run single and Ryan Church added a pinch-hit RBI in the 10th inning as visiting Arizona rallied off Trevor Hoffman for a victory over Milwaukee.
Chicago at San Francisco, late: The game between the Cubs and Giants was tied at 3-3 going into extra innings at press time.
