NIC volleyball ranked in preseason poll

COEUR d'ALENE - The North Idaho College volleyball team received the No. 11 reanking in the National Junior College Athletic Association's preseason poll released Monday.

NIC posted a 28-5 record last season, and the No. 1 ranked Cardinals fell out of the NJCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championships at the hands of College of Southern Idaho last November.

LCHS volleyball parents meeting set

COEUR d'ALENE - A Lake City volleyball parents meeting will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Lake City High School commons.

Tryouts for all Lake City volleyball teams will be Friday, at 9 a.m.- noon and 3 - 6 p.m. Players are required to attend both sessions.

Vandal Celebration Friday at Resort

The Kootenai County Vandal Booster and Vandal Alumni cordially invite the public to attend the North Idaho Vandal Celebration on Friday at the Coeur d'Alene Resort.

Special guests will include Head Football coach Robb Akey, Men's Basketball coach Don Verlin and Volleyball coach Debbie Buchanan.

Proceeds will benefit scholarships programs at the University of Idaho.

Riverhawks deadline is Aug. 19

The deadline to receive the early registration fee for the 2010 Fall Development League is Aug. 19 After this date, the registration fee will increase.

This year the Riverhawks welcome high school and other league teams to register as a team. This will benefit your team as a whole, providing additional time for them to grow as a team prior to their next official season. Contact our office for additional information about this option.

The RiverHawks are planning for a season that includes a few changes. First, the organization will have teams based out of the Coeur d'Alene as well as the Spokane. Also they now offer two levels of participation: Single A / Double AA level and Triple AAA level. The Single A / Double AA level is for athletes who are in grades 9 and 10 (please note that if you are an athlete in the 8th grade, you are welcome to try out for this level). The Triple AAA level is for athletes who are in grades 11 and 12.
