HEDGES: Constitution is getting trimmed

| August 10, 2010 1:05 PM

Since when is trimming a hedge a felony?

What's going on? The county is bullying this lone woman, who is without any resources to fight back and there's a whole bunch of us mightily outraged citizens out here. We don't like the smell of this. Something's rotten.

Is this America? Such heavy-handed government is terrifying to all of us. It sure smacks of Stalin's Russia - right here in River City. Or, are kangaroo courts alive and well in our town? Could this perhaps be a peek at a dark under-belly of corruption within the city of Post Falls and Kootenai County?

Per the U.S. Constitution, "a law must be clear, fair and have presumption of innocence to comply with procedural due process. The extent of due process among the customs of a people is the hallmark of a civilized and decent society."
