Murray's HR lifts Volcanoes past Indians

SPOKANE - Salem-Keizer's Mike Murray hit a three-run home run with two outs in the ninth to lift the visiting Volcanoes (3-7) past the Spokane Indians 9-8 in front of a sold-out Avista Stadium crowd of 6,829 on Friday night in Northwest League baseball action.

Spokane scored five runs in the bottom of the first, scoring on consecutive hits by Joshua Richmond and Brett Nicholas.

Spokane (5-5) hosts Yakima for a three-game series starting tonight at 6:30.
