Theodore Glen Capaul, 86

In loving memory of Theodore Glen Capaul who passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, in Moscow. He was born in Coeur d'Alene on March 24, 1924, to Henry and Cora McCaw Capaul.

His childhood was spent growing up at Edgemere and graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 1942, and lived on the Golden Gate Ranch near there with his parents. Immediately after graduation, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard on March 4, 1943, and rose to the ranks of Fireman First Class Reserve serving in WWII with an honorable discharge on April 3, 1946. After his discharge from the service, he married Evelyn P. Johnson with whom hey had two children, Dean and Sylvia, before she preceded him in death.

Being a true artist-designer of model cars and his drawings were very precise and futuristic. His hobbies were building miniature model cars of the 1940s era and playing chess. He also made very unique and realistic wooden toys for his children. He spent most of his life as a small engine mechanic for Sears stores in Chicago and Memphis, where he served with merit until his retirement. He spent a major part of his life and retiring years with his second and surviving wife Audrey K. Capaul of Tennessee who is now residing in Columbia, S.C. He loved animals and his favorite pet was his cat Skippy.

His immediate surviving relatives are his wife, Audry; a brother, Richard Capaul of Spokane Valley Wash.; his two children, son Dean L. Capaul of Spokane Valley, daughter Sylvia A. Capaul of Moscow; having a total of nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and a surviving stepson, Richard L. King of Charleston, S.C.

He was a gentleman who lived a purposeful life with high ideals and had a great sense of humor that amused many.

Ted will be interred with his parents.
