OBAMA: Let us count the facts

| August 6, 2010 10:00 PM

I would like to respond to an item in the July 30 edition titled "Obama: Let us count the lies" by Craig Kerwin which I read as a bunch of blah, blah, blah until I got to No. 10 and I realized he really does believe the lies of the Party of "NO." The president's birth certificate issue has been resolved many times over. I would believe the RNC (Party of No) vetted the issue way before his election. The certificate can even be found on the Internet.

All Mr. Kerwin's statements on Health Care Reform are wrong or are just Fox talking points without backup. Of one, President Obama never fully endorsed "Single Payer" because he knew the Party of No would never sign off on it only to protect the mega-billion dollar insurance industry. You know, the real ones that are between you and your doctor.

Have people lost the ability to critically think for oneself? With all the evidence to the contrary, why do so many people still only believe the lies and half-truths the right wing spews just to discredit the president to regain power they lost and have been pouting about ever-since?

The author of said item wears blinders and only listens to one drummer. The drum only beats to the tune of hate and is only beating because one party found out that having a person or something to hate is a powerful tool during elections. To say no to every proposal and to use the filibuster an unprecedented amount just to impede progress is just a strategy the right has to blame the left for not getting anything done.

Hear both sides. When proof to the contrary to ones beliefs presents itself, be-willing to change and not to stay in lockstep with the crowd. Read and be smarter than the corporate media.
