| August 6, 2010 9:00 PM

A world champion rider, two years in a row.

Sixteen-year-old Kelly Hamlin of Coeur d'Alene captured the Reserve World Championship in aged mares this past Sunday at the Ford American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championships in Oklahoma City.

Hamlin had already made a name for herself last year, when she won the 3-year-old halter mare title at the same world championships.

Competing against 28 other entries this year, Hamlin once again showed her American Quarter Horse, Miss Miraculous.

Hamlin and her steed received a prize package including a custom-designed trophy, Montana Silversmiths buckle, silver medallion, Cripple Creek leather jacket, reserve world champion patch, Professional's Choice product and a WeatherBeeta embroidered blanket.
