Richard Wright, 72

Richard N. Wright, age 72, of Coeur d’Alene, passed away peacefully at

home on Aug. 1, 2010 following a year and a half battle with cancer.

Richard was born Nov. 13, 1937 in King City, Calif., to Arlie and

Loretta Wright.  As a young boy he became an Eagle Scout. He also

proudly served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. During

his career he was a police officer in Newark, California, a college

professor at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and dean of

occupational education at Mount San Antonio in Walnut, Calif.

For the past 16 years he has lived in Coeur d’Alene, where he enjoyed

camping and boating in his retirement years. He attended Lake City

Community Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Judy (Iverson) Wright;

sons, Jason R. Wright of Coeur d’Alene, Richard A. Wright and wife,

Jaylene of Houston, Texas, and Marcus V. Wright and wife, Georgia of

South Shore, S.D.; daughters, Kimberly Heim and husband, Ron of

Ontario, Calif., and Tama Wright of Hesperia, Calif.  Richard was

blessed with 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at the Yates

Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel.  Burial will follow at Riverview

Cemetery. The family prefers charitable donations to the Kootenai

Health Foundation to benefit the Kootenai Cancer Center, 2003 Kootenai
