Ronald E. McKinzie, 82

Ronald E. McKinzie, 82, passed away April 21, 2010, in Coeur d’Alene. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Butte, Mont.

He and his mother moved to the Pleasant View area near Post Falls in 1931. He attended Pleasant View Grade School and graduated from Post Falls High School in 1944 at the age of 16. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1950 to 1951.

He married Maxine Stahl in November 1958 in Coeur d’Alene. He retired from Potlatch Forest Lumber Mill after 30 years. He and Maxine began spending their winters in Arizona. They moved from Post Falls to Athol shortly before her death in 1944. Ronald continued to travel south for the winters and met and married Darlene Arnall in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene at the home; son Harold (Cheryl) Stahl, Fairbanks, Alaska; sister Kathleen (Jack) Haynes, Boise; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and two grand nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert D. McKinzie and grandson Bryan Stahl.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls. Burial followed at Pleasant View Cemetery.
