Edward L. Spitzer of Twin Lakes Golf Course, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, from complications due to a vehicle accident on April 6, 2010. He was born June 21, 1921, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Edward L. Spitzer is preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Spitzer of 62 years. He was a World War II vet, retired truck driver. He loved his horse racing, swimming and high diving. His diving was platform and spring-board. His swimming was freestyle and butterfly. He was a Junior Olympian prior to war. He was a golden gloves boxer. He loved spending time golfing with his compadre, grandson, Michael E. Spitzer. Total sport enthusiast, loved life and lived it to the fullest, Fast Eddy. Edward Spitzer was taken from his life all to soon, he was a young active 88-year-old man.

Edward leaves behind a daughter, Janet Hanzelic, Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, Michael L. Spitzer, Twin Lakes; granddaughters, Summer Wedgeworth, Twin Lakes, Deanna Browning, Las Vegas, Brenda Stice, Las Vegas, and Julie Mott, Dixon, Ill.; grandsons, Michael E. Spitzer, Twin Lakes, and Tyronne Heck, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services to be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Pingrove Cemetery in Rathdrum. Condolences can be sent to English Funeral Home at 1700 N. Spokane St., Post Falls, ID 83854.
