River City Lanes celebrates tonight

The Post Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will participate in a grand re-opening of River City Lanes at 965 W. Seltice Way today.

The celebration of the smoke-free bowling center will be held from 5-7 p.m. with a taco bar for visitors.

Wheeler to address Gonzaga University

Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Wheeler will be the guest speaker at the Gonzaga University School of Business Administration Dean's Business Forum at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29 in the Jepson Center's Wolff Auditorium. The $15 fee includes breakfast starting at 7 a.m.

Wheeler will discuss, "The New Age of Precious Metals." Wheeler has been chairman of the board of the Coeur d'Alene Mines Corp. since 1992 and has been CEO of the corporation since 1986. He also was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of National Mining Association.

NFIB offers free media webinar April 28

The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation's leading small business association, will offer a free webinar to help small business owners understand how to work with the media to reach their target audiences.

"Driving the Story: Understanding the Media and Measuring Your Effectiveness," will be presented on Wednesday, April 28 at 9 a.m. Mike Diegel, NFIB's National Media Director, will delve into how reporters approach covering a story, what the media needs to tell the story and how to effectively communicate through the media.

Attendees will learn how to earn media coverage and prepare for an interview, print and broadcast interview tips, techniques to help them tell the story they want to tell, as well as learn what not to do in an interview.

With their registration confirmation, attendees will receive a free downloadable "quick tips" document to review prior to the webinar.

Center Partners announce call center promotions

Center Partners announced several employee promotions in its Coeur d'Alene call center.

• Vera Gomaa, supervisor, was promoted to the position of senior supervisor.

• Amie King, telecommunications sales agent, was promoted to the position of team supervisor.

• Michael Weinstein, vendor support agent, was promoted to the position of team supervisor.

• Brandon Provence, mentor, was promoted to the position of team supervisor.
