Flyers top Devils for 3-1 series lead

Jeff Carter scored two goals to lead the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-1 win over the visiting New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night and a commanding 3-1 lead in their playoff series.

New Jersey hosts Game 5 on Thursday.

Sharks 2, Avalanche 1, OT: At Denver, Joe Pavelski scored in overtime, giving San Jose a victory over Colorado and tying the series at two games apiece.

Game 5 is Thursday at San Jose.

Penguins 7, Senators 4: Sidney Crosby had two goals and two assists, leading visiting Pittsburgh to a victory over Ottawa and a 3-1 series lead.

Game 5 is Thursday at Pittsburgh.

Red Wings 3, Coyotes 0: Henrik Zetterberg scored two goals to lead host Detroit to a series-evening victory over Phoenix in Game 4.

Phoenix hosts Game 5 on Friday.

Predators 4, Blackhawks 1: David Legwand's goal and two assists lifted host Nashville past Chicago for a 2-1 series lead.

Game 4 is Thursday at Nashville.
