Connie Walker, 63

| April 19, 2010 4:45 AM

Connie passed away April 10, 2010, in Kennewick, Wash. She was born June 22, 1946, in Missoula, Mont., to George and Pauline Booth.

Connie grew up in Coeur d’Alene with her three brothers, Monte, Gary and George.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend who often sacrificed her own needs to help others. She always remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries with a card or call. She not only raised her own three boys, Don, Mike and Jim, but was a mother to many others.

She started racing street stock cars and moved up to the early stock cars. Being the only woman driver, all the men were scared when they saw the pink No. 48 passing them. She earned 145 first-place trophies in her racing career.

Later she earned her CNA license, taking care of many as she always did. She loved to travel, taking many trips to Hawaii, California and traveled through many other states.

Connie loved the Lord and always had faith in God. She enjoyed being a greeter for many years at Faith Tabernacle Church.

In early 2006, Connie moved from Post Falls, to Kennewick to be closer to her sons and grandchildren. They enjoyed many wonderful camping trips, picnics, dinners and game nights.

Connie was honest, hardworking, loving, caring and thoughtful of others and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her life will be celebrated with a memorial at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Faith Tabernacle Church, Post Falls.
