GEM: Represents CdA, its people

| April 16, 2010 10:00 PM

We can’t imagine how wonderful this place is to live, as we are in awe of Coeur d’Alene and its residents. As Cliff Harris says, “We live in Camelot.”

The other morning, the stone in my wife’s wedding band fell out of its setting, a stone I worked very hard to acquire so many years ago. We were so poor when we married; it wasn’t until our 10th wedding anniversary that I was able to put a nice ring on her finger.

The other morning I was working, and during a few calls, noticed that something was wrong.  When we met in the early afternoon, her eyes were puffed from all the crying and I couldn’t understand her through all the emotion and tears. Finally she was able to tell me that her diamond had fallen out of her ring.

The folks at Fred Meyer were so helpful, spending many man hours working with my wife to help her look for the stone. Many shoppers paused from their busy schedules to help in the search also.

Then in the evening we received a call from Loretta of Fred Meyer. Would you believe that Eileen, who was shopping with her daughter, called and informed Loretta that she had found “something.” Her daughter found the stone after my wife left the store.

We are so grateful for honest folks and so blessed to find such a wonderful place to live. Thanks to everyone who lent a helping hand, a word of encouragement, and even a hug.
