Ron Hysley, 65

| April 13, 2010 11:43 AM

Ronald Floyd Hysley, 65, of Coeur d’Alene, died April 10, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center. He was born Feb. 5, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Robert and Ada Hysley.

His ambitions always seemed to be bigger than the cities he found himself in, but after decades of hopping between the east and west coasts and Florida, he finally settled in Coeur d’Alene where he lived the rest of his life.

Professionally he worked as a draftsman and designer, but kept returning to bartending, a passion of his that allowed him to meet and befriend everyone from musicians to actors to saints turned lifelong friends. Off the clock he loved the ocean and gardening.

He leaves behind a family which he loved more than life itself, and the only thing that could keep him grounded. Even that was temporary at times. They include four beautiful daughters, Janice Kelly, Jaqueline Hutchinson and Jill Hysley of New Jersey, and Vienna Hysley of Coeur d’Alene; his grandchildren, Michael, Priscilla, Noelle, Olivia and Samantha Kelly, and Annabel and Henry Hutchinson; his mother, Ada Perkins of North Hollywood, Calif.; ex-wives, Diane Hysley and Virginia Melk-Reechia; and his siblings, Charles, Joyce and Roberta.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Ruthie. Ron will be missed and forever loved by everyone who knew him.

The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel. Please visit Ron’s memorial and sign his online guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
