Jeri L. Erickson, 51

Jeri L. Erickson, 51, of Spirit Lake, passed away April 7, 2010.

Jeri was born Dec. 19, 1958, in Reading, Pa.

Jeri graduated high school in Laguna Beach, Calif., where she earned a scholarship to Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash. She moved to Coeur d’Alene earning her degree in nursing from North Idaho College. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane and Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Spokane Valley, Wash.

Jeri took a few years off from nursing and joined her former husband in team truck driving across the entire United States after earning her CDL. Again returning to nursing until March 1996 when diagnosed with brain cancer.

Jeri’s un-daunting spirit and incredible way of laughing in the face of many adversities including brain cancer, undoubtedly attributed to her living well and as long as she did.

Jeri felt deeply for children and animals in need often donating to their cause.

Jeri was preceded in death by her father, Jon C. Eckert and is survived by her mother, Patricia J. Burke; sisters Leslie A. Jackson and Allison D. Cook, as well as nieces and nephews.

Jeri’s nature was truly a caring, kind, compassionate and guileless one. She will be missed by many and loved always.

A memorial will be held at a later date in Red Lodge, Mont., where she wished to be with her Nana and Gramps.
