BONNERS FERRY - John Morris scored three runs in the first game, and the Timberlake Tigers went on to sweep the Bonners Ferry Badgers 9-2 and 10-6 on Friday in the Intermountain League opener for both schools.

The start of the doubleheader was delayed by rain, but the teams were able to get both games in before conditions worsened.

"I thought we played great today considering the conditions," Timberlake coach Bill Rider said.

Tyler Shaffer pitched six innings in the first game for Timberlake (6-2), which also got a two-run double by Joe Sedillo.

Derek Tymesen and Kyle Overland each hit solo home runs to pace the Tigers in the second game. Sal Miranda added a two-run double for Timberlake, which hosts St. Maries in a doubleheader today at noon.
