Zubaly, a 5-foot-10 senior guard and a two-year starter, last week had 15 points, four steals and three assists in a 71-66 loss to Moscow and had 11 points and five rebounds in a 65-47 win over Timberlake, and is a big reason the Hawks are 14-3. “He’s just gotten better at leadership, and he’s played terrific defense,” Lakeland coach Dave Stockwell said. “Usually when things go bad, Ben takes over and gets us straight again,” assistant coach Bill Ryan added.
