Courtesy photo The Timbers North FC boys 04 Red soccer team played in the recent Idaho State Cup in Boise. In pool play the Timbers defeated Arsenal United 6-0 with goals scored by Lance Gilmor-2, Tyler Gasper-2, Evan Lowder-1 and Noah Janzen-1. Kael McGowan was in goal for the shutout. TNFC lost to Boise Timbers 4-0. TNFC defeated COSC-Inferno 6-0 with goals scored by Alex Reyes-2, Kohrt Weber-1, Noah Janzen-1, Malachi Hutchens-Cohen-1, and Andon Brandt-1. Kael McGowan was in goal for the shutout. TNFC faced Idaho Rush in the semifinals. The score was 1-1 after regulation play and two 5-minute overtimes. TNFC prevailed in the PK shootout with Alex Reyes, Noah Janzen, Joseph Sarkis and Evan Lowder scoring from the mark and Kael McGowan making two crucial saves. TNFC faced the Boise Timbers in the final. The score was 0-0 after regulation play and two 10-minute overtimes. The game was decided in a shootout where Boise Timbers prevailed. The Timbers took second place in the state and will represent Idaho in the US Youth Soccer Far West Presidents Cup in Norco, Calif., which began Tuesday and runs through Sunday.
