Senior Hailey Cheney totaled 13 points and nine rebounds, and sophomore Emily Coe had 10 points and 13 boards as the Kellogg Wildcats beat the host Wallace Miners 42-24 in the championship game of the Silver Valley Tournament on Saturday night at Kirby Krulitz Court.
Senior guards Trinidie Nichols and Lexi Heath scored 15 points each for the Trojans, who jumped out to a 26-3 lead in the first five minutes, beating the Central Valley Bears 65-47 in the nonleague opener for both.
“We had two options based on the play I called,” Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. “She was option No. 1 if she was open, but we had another shooter there to take it if she wasn’t. Fortunately, she was open and hit it.”
