The Nike Outdoor Nationals is a premiere track and field event hosted by the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation. The 2022 event was held June 16-19 at the historic and newly renovated Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. North Idaho Cross Country (NIXC) sent five distance runners to compete against other qualifying middle and high school athletes from across the United States. From left are Max Cervi-Skinner, Zack Cervi-Skinner, Wyatt Carr, Mitchell Rietze, Riley Brazle and coach Emry Carr. In the middle school division, Wyatt Carr was 26th in the boys mile (4:52.62) and 14th in the boys 800 meters (2:12.38), Mitchell Rietze was 33rd in the boys mile (4:56.35) and Riley Brazle was 34th in the girls mile (5:42.92) and 21st in the girls 800 (2:33.45). In the high school freshman division, Max Cervi-Skinner was second in the two-mile (9:27.06) and and 12th in the mile (4:33.38), and Zack Cervi-Skinner was 10th in the two-mile (10:04.73) and 48th in the mile (4:50.72).
